Volunteering with NSS

Who can join, how to enrol and what is expected through the service year.

Enrolment

Joining the two units

NSS volunteers are regular students of the school — selected through an enrolment window each year and placed into one of the two NSS units. Unit allocation, batch and duties are assigned by the programme officers.

Enrolment dates and the application link are announced on Notices at the start of the academic year. If the window is already closed, write to the school via Contact or raise a ticket on Support.

Who can enrol

  • Regular students of the school in the programme year's target classes.
  • A genuine willingness to complete both regular service and the residential camp.
  • Parental consent where required for camp participation.

What is expected

  • 120 hours of regular service in the programme year.
  • Full attendance at the seven-day special camp.
  • Discipline, uniform, diary upkeep and adherence to the programme code of conduct.

Unit life

Volunteers are organised into small teams within each unit. Captains, Vice-Captains and Secretaries lead tasks; programme officers mentor and sign off diaries and attendance. The full rosters are visible on the two unit pages.
