How certificates are issued, verified and corrected — for regular service, the special camp and distinguished programmes.
Issuing policy
A certificate recognises completed service
Certificates are issued on completion of the prescribed service — regular activities and the seven-day special camp — and for distinguished programmes as per the applicable NSS guidelines. Dates of issue, eligibility and collection are announced by the programme officers through Notices and through the unit notice boards.
Programme-year certificate
Issued on completion of 120 hours of regular service for the year, as recorded by the programme officer against the volunteer's roll number.
Special camp certificate
Issued on full attendance at the residential special camp — a separate certificate recognising camp service in the adopted habitat.
Integration & distinguished programmes
Certificates for national/state integration, leadership and other approved programmes are issued as per the relevant NSS guidelines.
How to check whether your certificate is ready
- Watch Notices and Achievements for the issuing notice.
- That notice will say where to collect (NSS office / school office) or whether a download link is provided.
- Bring a valid identity and your unit / batch details when collecting.

Name, roll-number or batch error?
Certificate records are prepared from the unit register. If your name, roll number or batch is wrong on a notice or certificate, do not re-register — raise a ticket so the programme officer can correct the record.
