Objectives of NSS
What the National Service Scheme is built to achieve — for students, institutions and the community.
Purpose
Why NSS exists
The National Service Scheme (NSS) is a Central Sector Scheme of the Government of India under the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports. Its purpose is to develop the personality of student youth through voluntary community service, and to channel their energy into nation-building. Every activity on this portal — camps, cleanliness drives, blood donation and literacy work — traces back to these objectives.
Develop personality & character
Regular service and a residential camp build discipline, initiative, empathy and leadership that classrooms alone cannot develop.
Foster civic responsibility
Volunteers identify community needs, work alongside residents, and learn democratic, cooperative problem-solving.
Serve the community in which you live
Swachh Bharat drives, plantation, sanitation, blood donation, road-safety and literacy campaigns are regular programme items.
Combine learning with doing
Service is treated as a second classroom — reflection, reporting and presentation are part of the NSS experience.
National integration
Integration camps — and our school's own annual camp — bring together students from different backgrounds around one programme of work.
Recognition through service
Certificates, awards and activity records acknowledge the volunteer's contribution and become part of their permanent record.
